Saul Garcia-Rodriguez is a member of our boys soccer team and he also runs track. He has been playing soccer for almost 11 years. This season the team is 5-0 so far and Saul has 7 goals and 7 assists and he is one of the Captains. He loves being part of a team, being a leader and of course he loves the feeling he has when the team wins a game. He is a true competitor and strives to be his best.
His proudest moment is when he was made captain of the team as a freshman. His junior year he earned All State Honorable Mention, one of the highest honors of being an athlete. He is also a three time letter winner in soccer and track and has also been recognized as All Conference First and Second Team for five different athletic accomplishments.
Saul is head of our Athletic Leadership Team and has a cumulative GPA of 3.29. His favorite class in school is currently Economics because he really likes the teacher. His future plans with soccer is to get a scholarship to attend college to earn his degree as a Registered Nurse.
When asked what he will miss the most about high school, he said he will miss being at other competitions and cheering on other athletic teams. In the near future, he would like to see any of our Arvada Athletic Teams make it into the playoffs.
Saul is an amazing role model for younger athletes. His advice for those younger athletes is work hard, never give up and be humble. What amazing advice from an inspiring young man! Thanks Saul.
