News From Our Athletic Director - Dan Quaratino

It is that time of year when we are coming to a close with winter sports and it is bitter sweet with regard to our seniors. Only three to five percent go on to play college sports, so for a majority of student athletes they will be wrapping up their competitive sports careers. The senior athletes have spent their high school years sweating, laughing and competing. In addition, they have put a lot of time and energy into their teams. They have also built a bond with their teammates that will last for a lifetime and carry great memories. I want to thank our seniors and they will also be part of our extended family of AHS Alumni.

I want to give a special thanks to Barb Steward. Barb is one of our math teachers who has helped our winter sports teams this year. She worked with our basketball teams as our Strength and Conditioning Coach. In addition, she spoke to our winter sports teams about the importance of nutrition and how it impacts them as athletes. Barb was a great asset this season and we were grateful for her assistance. Thanks Barb!!
